Welcome to the Taupo Mountain Bike Club
Mountain Bike taupo's Mission is to promote, facilitate, encourage and develop Mountain Biking in the Taupo region
Our Vision: To fulfill the purpose of Mountain Biking activities for Social enjoyment, exercise and or competition. For members to participate in fun social outings & events at club through to national level
The Taupo Mountain Bike Club runs frequent events in Wairakei Forest, open to everyone. The events are always well managed and good fun, entry fees are low, and thanks to our great local sponsors, the events are always good value. There is something for everyone - you don't have to be a "boy racer". Our Summer Series is a great way to start, good fun and social, and you have a chance to improve your handicap. The Craters Classic is a more serious cross country event, with long and short course options. Then there are Teams Races, Thursday night Night-Rides, and more.
A large part of any profit made by the Club goes to Bike Taupo, for maintenance and development of mountainbike tracks in Wairakei Forest. And aren't those tracks great - flowing singletrack with a pumice all-weather surface.
Get into it, kiwis! Show your support by participating in events and joining the club.
Expressions of Interest 2016 TMTBC Junior Development Squad
In 2015 The Taupo Mountain Bike Club established the inaugural Junior Development Program. The primary focus of the Program is to identify the regions local MTB talent and provide a pathway that enables the junior members to transition from a weekend rider to a proficient and competitive MTB racer at local, regional and national levels.
We had great success on the MTB race circuit in 2015 with many of the squad members achieving podium positions. Building on last year, we now invite applications for selection for the 2016 Junior Development Squad. The Program is aimed at TMTBC members in the 12 - 16 age group.
If you are interested in applying and for more detailed information, an application form can be found on the Clubs website: (Click here) Applications close 19th February 2016.
To be considered for selection you must participate in the TMTBC Summer Series Pack & Pedal Long Course commencing February 4th. Entries can be made online or at Pack & Pedal, Tamamutu Street.
RIDE HARD, THAT’S HOW WE ROLL.
