Promote, facilitate, encourage and develop mountain biking in the Taupo region.
For Taupo to be our and New Zealand’s preferred all-season cross-country mountain bike destination.
The Clubs long term goals are defined in our constitution and include:
- To promote and grow the sport of mountain biking in the Taupo District alongside our key partners and stakeholders;
- To develop mountain bike riders through education, training and coaching, with a particular focus on our youth;
- To work with our partners to: plan, construct and maintain all-season cross-country mountain biking trails and associated facilities in the Taupo District, catering for all rider abilities from novice to expert; and
- To run and promote mountain biking events that range from social rides to competitive cross-country races.
The Taupo MTB Club Committee is proactive and committed to raising the profile of the Taupo MTB Club, Craters Mountain Bike Park, Bike Taupo and the sport of mountain biking, not only in Taupo but throughout New Zealand. We are proud to run an array of competitive and social events catering for all abilities, thereby appealing to a broad range of our Club members as well as attracting keen mountain bikers from around the country. The Committee is continuously looking to add to its portfolio of events and provide outstanding rider experiences for members whether that be in a race format or a social environment.
